If you are not planning to rest on the seaside, it is worth considering the option of taking an unforgettable trip in the mountains. The magnificent Carpathian Mountains, the crystal purity of local lakes, and the native atmosphere can charm and inspire, filling travelers with unusual power. So don’t hesitate to grab a larger backpack and rent a modern off-road vehicle to immediately embark on a wonderful journey to the beautiful Carpathian lakes!
The best option is to rent a car in Lviv. Our driver will transport selected car models directly to the train station or any address you specify. Making a trip in a comfortable car to any of the Carpathian lakes – will be a great experience, because using public transport you will not get directly to the shore of the lake, but only to the roadside, from where you will need to walk to your destination (mostly going uphill).
You might take an interesting car route through the Carpathians: Lviv – Synevir – Lake Vita – Ivano-Frankivsk – Lake Of Youth. You can change the route and don’t go to Lake Youth through Ivano-Frankivsk. Instead, you can try going through the town of Khust, though it will take longer. Besides, the highway P21 and H-10 have been recently repaired, so the trip might bring a lot of good vibes.

Visiting the lake “Synevir.

Lake Synevir, a gem among Ukraine’s Seven Natural Wonders, nestles amidst majestic mountain peaks and lush forests. Its origin, a result of a powerful earthquake over 10,000 years ago, is complemented by a romantic legend. The tale narrates the tragic love story of Sina and Vira, whose forbidden love led to the lake’s formation when Sina’s tears transformed into its waters. According to local lore, couples beginning their journey near Lake Synevir are destined for lasting love, while those visiting on their wedding day are promised a happy marriage.

The lake’s depth is about twenty meters, and the water in it, even in the hot summer, does not get warmer than 13 degrees Celsius. Swimming in the lake is uncommon, but you can ride on a wooden raft. In addition, there is horseback riding on the nearby forest paths and velvet green lawns.

How do I get to Synevir?
Several buses and shuttle buses are running from Lviv bus station in this direction. Going to the lake by car is better to begin from Lviv and then pass Mezhgorie – turn toward Synevyrska Polyana.

The lake, often called “Sea Eye,” is only a three-minute drive from the nearby village. Please note that the entrance to the Synevir National Park is not free. Thus, an adult ticket costs 30 UAH, children 15 UAH, and the entrance for car tourists will cost 75 UAH.
Where can you spend the night?
Some people spend the night right on the shore of the lake, setting up a tent, and others stay on the tourist campsite, which has a café and offers various services. For those who like a more comfortable vacation, hotel rooms are available nearby, as well as individual cottages.
Vita Lake
Every dream can come true, and this is another example. In the early 1990s, a young guy traveled through the Carpathian Mountains and discovered Lake Khashchevanskoe. The sight impressed him so impressed that he decided to build his own house there. He worked hard for about 15 years, and when he became financially independent, he started to improve the lake:
• In a short period, a road was built to the lake.
• Electricity was supplied.
• A beautiful house was constructed.

Many friends and acquaintances began to come to the fellow, which made him realize that the house should be expanded. Then he started to build cottages, so a complete hotel complex called “Lake of Life” was eventually built here.

What’s the best route to Lake Vita?

Your journey to the lake will take an hour and a half. The T-0718 highway connecting Sinegar and the shores of Lake Vita has recently been renovated.

Best place for a camp
The local tourist resort includes many cottages, so you can rent a separate house or a comfortable room if you wish. Houses are built from natural wood. Planning of the houses provides a private balcony and a terrace, from where you can enjoy the lake view. In addition, there are many different activities to choose from: fishing, a complex offering a wide range of spa procedures, a large entertainment program for adults and children, etc.

The Lake of Youth

The lake owes its name – “Youth”, because of the healing powers of Carpathian spring water, which tones the body. The lake is crystal clear, so you can easily see the bottom of it on a clear day. In the summer, you can visit a comfortable beach here.
Nature has prepared everything for a perfect vacation by the lake: you can enjoy the sun while spending time on the beach, choose your favorite local dishes, as well as European and national food, take a ride on water skis, catamaran, quad bike, visit water amusements and go diving. This is one of the best ways to relax in Bukovel on the lake shore in summer.

Getting to the Lake of Youth

Foremost, you should examine the map and then choose the best route, for example, start from Lake Vita, then visit Khust (just to visit Khust Castle), or head to Ivano-Frankivsk, where you will also find a lot of interesting places to visit.

Helpful tip: if you pre-book any car by signing a long-term rental agreement, you can take advantage of the minimal daily rate. Perhaps you will prefer such arrangements more than traveling to Zakarpattya and returning to your city by bus or train.
